Kevin Costner confirms he’s NOT returning to Yellowstone after network drama and his bitter divorce battle: ‘I loved it, and I know you loved it’

  • Costner and producers reportedly bickered over his schedule and pay
  • Scheduling was an issue due to filming of his Western epic Horizon
  • A sequel with Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer is being developed

It’s the end of the road for Kevin Costner after he confirmed Thursday that he is done for good with his hit series Yellowstone.

In a short clip shared to his social media accounts on Thursday, the 69-year-old actor and filmmaker made it official that he would not be returning for an appearance on the hit Western crime series when it returns for season 5B.

‘Hi everyone. I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone — that beloved series that I love, that I know you love — I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future,’ Costner announced somberly while gazing into the camera.

Previous reports indicated that Costner was likely done for good with the series after conflicts between himself and producers over pay, his schedule and his availability to film his multi-part Western epic Horizon.

But fans held out hope that he might at least return to find a dignified ending for his patriarch John Dutton, but his new video has seemingly dashed those hopes for good.
