NBA reject Kevin Porter Jr. has been spotted plying his trade in Greece, roughly six months after the Oklahoma City Thunder waived him following his domestic assault charge.

The 23-year-old guard signed with Thessaloniki-based club PAOK for the remainder of the 2023-24 GBL season, which ends in mid-May, on April 2, and is reportedly earning just $10,000, according to HotNewHipHop

Porter, who last played for the Houston Rockets during the 2022-23 NBA season, was arrested and charged by the NYPD for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend and WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick in September, roughly a year after he signed a four-year, $82.5million contract extension.

After his alleged attack on Gondrezick, of the Chicago Sky, the Rockets barred Porter from having any interaction with his teammates as front office executives feared the player’s scandal would cause a distraction just a few weeks before the team’s 2023-24 season opener against the Orlando Magic on October 25.

Porter was eventually traded to the Thunder on October 17, but was immediately waived by the team, resulting in the player only earning $16.5M from his massive NBA deal.

In January, he accepted a plea deal with the NYPD, pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault and a second-degree harassment violation.

Porter can reportedly have the assault charge cleared from his criminal record in a year by completing a court-ordered program.

In the fall, prosecutors claimed that Gondrezick told police officers that Porter hit her with a closed fist, causing her to suffer a gash above her right eye in her hotel room in Manhattan. However, she has since contradicted that claim, insisting she was never strangled

Subsequent reports claimed Porter broke a vertebrae in Gondrezick’s neck, but that has since been revealed to be a genetic defect and not an injury.

Because of that, Manhattan prosecutors previously dropped the second-degree assault charge against Porter, who only faced counts of third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation prior to January’s plea deal.

Gondrezick then downplayed the alleged September 11 attack that led to Porter’s arrest.

‘He never balled his fists up and hit me,’ she told the New York Post in October. ‘And he definitely didn’t punch me in the face numerous times. That is a lie. I don’t have any injuries to support that.’

Now, Porter is averaging 19.2 points in three games since making his debut for PAOK earlier this month. He had 28 points on 9 of 20 shots recently on April 20.
