Staff at Watermark Books confirmed Mr Rudd was at the Brisbane and Sydney airport stores over the weekend for an inpromptu signing.

‘Signed a few books at Brisbane Airport Newslink and Sydney Airport Watermark – so if you are chasing a signed copy of Not for the Faint-hearted, take a look as you head off on your travels,’ Mr Rudd wrote.

Daily Mail Australia was told all locations still have signed copies of the memoir on display.

‘We haven’t sold a single of one of his books,’ revealed staff at one airport shop.

‘We have a special deal with the publisher allowing us to return them even though they have been signed.’

‘A few copies have been sold but there are plenty left,’ said a staff member at a different store.

‘Mine,’ he wrote. ‘Any chance of an in person autograph too?’

‘Is “Not for the Faint-hearted” a reference to what it was like to work in your government? Or perhaps an indication of the turgid prose within?’ asked another cheeky Twitter user.

Not for the Faint-hearted: A Personal Reflection on Life, Politics and Purpose was published in October this year and at 688 pages long is the first of two volumes.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Kevin Rudd for comment.
