KFC customer finds word ‘f***’ scrawled on tub of gravy

A father was outraged after finding the word ‘f***’ printed on a tub of gravy in a meal he had bought for his four-year-old daughter.

Graeme Harrison, 36, from Litherland, in Merseyside, purchased a children’s popcorn chicken meal on the way home from a Paw Patrol concert with his daughter.

However when he got home and unpacked the meal he was stunned to find the offensive word printed on a sell-by date sticker on the lid of the gravy tub.

Mr Harrison said he had got a £10 voucher from the fast food chain, which he described as an ‘insult’, and had received no further communication or apology.

The 36-year-old, who bought the meal from the Litherland chain, said:’I couldn’t believe it. I just thought “you have got to be kidding me”‘.

‘It is outrageous. It was a blatant swear word on a children’s box meal.

‘I am lucky that my daughter is not older and could understand what it said. But she can spell and knew it was a word.’

He said he was frustrated at having to chase KFC and claim they are trying to ‘sweep the incident under the carpet’.

After receiving the voucher he said he’d had no communication or apology from KFC since the incident on August 16.

He said: ‘I want to know how it happened and what they are going to do about it.

‘That label can’t have been something the computer just did itself and I am pretty sure it will have been printed on other items.

‘The letter I was sent was just an automated response and it was just a generic complaints form. I don’t even think they have looked at the complaint and the £10 voucher is just an insult.

‘They have all my details but there has been no follow-up whatsoever.

‘I am shocked they haven’t contacted me. I don’t feel like, given the circumstances, I should be the one chasing them up.

‘It has been nearly two months and I have had no explanation as to how it happened.

‘I think they are hoping by not responding it can be swept under the carpet. It is unbelievable.’

A spokesman for KFC told MailOnline: ‘It looks like a team member was trying to be funny here, but it’s not on.

‘We’re sorry for Graeme’s experience and the area manager will be reaching out to him personally to apologise.’
