Khloe Kardashian KUWTK end ‘devastating’ but reveals that after 15 years she ‘needs a break’

Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans were heartbroken when the family recently announced that they were putting an end of their long-running reality show.

And, viewers were not alone, Khloé Kardashian called the decision to stop filming ‘devastating’ and admitted she isn’t ‘good with change,’ during an appearance on the new hit podcast Emergency Contact.

Khloe, 36, and her real life ’emergency contact’, best friend Malika Haqq, discussed the end of the KUWTK era with podcast host and Kardashian confidant Simon Huck in Monday’s episode.

Getting real: Khloé Kardashian called the decision to end KUWTK ‘devastating’ and admitted she isn’t ‘good with change,’ during an appearance on the new hit podcast Emergency Contact

‘It’s sad, but we’ve been doing this for 15 years,’ Khloe reflected. ‘We get two weeks off a year. It’s exhausting.’

‘We’re all in a different place in our lives and some of us need a nap,’ she quipped. ‘It’s hard because I’m not good with change, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need a break.’

Last month the Kardashian/Jenner family collectively announced that after 20 seasons, they were ready to walk away from their wildly successful E! reality series.

Kim was the first to reveal the sad news via social media and the rest of the family soon shared the prepared statement.

‘I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years,’ Kim wrote on Instagram. ‘This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.’

Season 19 of the reality show kicked off in September and the series will conclude with a 20th and final season next year.

‘The day it happened, Malika and I were talking throughout the day, because you don’t have to be a main character — you’re still a part of this journey from day one, even if you were in the first episode or no,’ Khloe said on Emergency Contact.

Adding: ‘You’re on this journey with us and just for any chapter to end, that doesn’t mean everything is ending for good. That just means there’s room for another chapter to open.’

Later in the episode, Khloé got candid about her life prior to becoming a household name revealing that she was once employed as Nicole Richie’s assistant back in 2007.

‘I went to school with her,’ the Good American co-founder said. ‘She was one of my best friends growing up and we were just really, really close and then when she started doing Simple Life – I think it was after Simple Life – she just needed some help and I just needed a job.’

Emergency Contact, which brings together celebrities with the person in their lives who they’d call first in the event of an emergency, is hosted by KUWTK regular Simon Huck and Melissa Gray Washington.

‘Malika and I are really good at knowing, like, okay we might hang out with a borrowed friend, but they’re not like your ride or dies,’ Kardashian explained of Haqq, her long-time Emergency Contact..

‘You have to know who you’re doing a feature with and who you’re doing a f***ing duet with. And Malika and I are doing a f***ing album,’ she joked of her bestie.
