Kid Rock teased a potential U.S. Senate run on Thursday, tweeting that ‘[t]he 2018 Political Revolution is nearing.’
The musician, who was born Robert Ritchie and lives in suburban Detroit, has already said on social media that a website touting his Senate candidacy against Democrat Debbie Stabenow is real.
He said in July that he would make a ‘major announcement in the near future.’
Ritchie wrote on a Kid Rock for US Senate website that ‘[t]he democrats are “shattin’ in their pantaloons” right now…and rightfully so!’
‘We will be scheduling a press conference in the next 6 weeks or so to address this issue amongst others, and if I decide to throw my hat in the ring for US Senate, believe me… it’s game on mthrfkers.’

Never a political wallflower, Ritchie set an aggressive tone on Friday in a Twitter jab at far-left Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Warren tweeted that Ending DACA – a program that protects illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children – ‘would tear apart families & rip young people away from the only country they’ve ever known. #saveDACA.’
‘Not true,’ Ritchie responded, adding that DACA protectees are ‘Illegals.’
A website maintained by his music label, Warner Bros. Records, is selling campaign merchandise. Yard signs are available for $15.99, T-shirts cost 24.99, baseball caps are $15.99 and bumper stickers sell for $4.99.

Michigan Republican Party officials have so far said they haven’t heard from Ritchie, who also established a nonprofit organization in July to encourage voter registration.
Stabenow will stand for re-election in 2018. Republicans hoping to challenge her include former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Bob Young Jr. and businesswoman Lena Epstein.
Ritchie has previously said he has voted Republican in the past, but identifies as a libertarian.

Last year, the heartland rock singer initially supported GOP candidate Ben Carson, telling Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly that he loved ‘the black guy.’
Rock eventually backed Donald Trump when he won the GOP nomination, saying he found his campaign to be ‘entertaining as s**t.’
In April he made headlines when he visited the White House with former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and another musician, Ted Nugent.
Palin shared the photo of her group mocking Hillary Clinton, with Palin pointing at a White House portrait of the former first lady and Nugent giving a hand sign to indicate that Hillary was out.
Kid Rock meanwhile just stood in front of the portrait with his arms crossed.
