Russell Penn is attracting interest from League One and League Two clubs following his exploits with Kidderminster Harriers.

The 37-year old former Wrexham midfielder guided Kidderminster to promotion from the National League North last Sunday with a play off win over Brackley Town.

It was their ninth win in a row and marked an incredible turnaround for a club that was in the bottom half of the division and seven points adrift of the play-offs at the start of last month.

Victory meant a return to the National League Premier for the first time since 2016 for Harriers and redemption for Penn who had come under criticism following a dip in form in December.

Last year his side reached the Fourth Round of the FA Cup and the play-offs during his first full season in charge, which had already alerted Football League clubs to his potential.

Penn said: ‘I never got promoted as a player, never won anything as a player. What we have done in these past two years has been mind-boggling.’

He is due to speak to the club hierarchy this week about players and budgets.

‘I have some really tough decisions to make over the next week. Football is relentless,’ said Penn.

‘But there are some golden personalities in that dressing room who have really come to the fore over the past couple of months and we have to savour this.’
