Kim Jong-un poses for a SELFIE as he takes a tour of Singapore

Kim Jong-un posed for a selfie in Singapore on Monday night as he took a sightseeing tour around the city ahead of his summit with President Trump.

The North Korean dictator was pictured at the Gardens by the Bay with Singapore’s foreign minister Vivian Balakrishnan around 9.30pm.

He then went to enjoy views over the city from the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel and casino, according to reports on social media.

Meanwhile Trump spent the night in briefing sessions with his aides as he prepared for the historic meeting with Trump.

Kim arrived in the island nation on Sunday ahead of Trump, shaking hands with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

He then disappeared inside his hotel, the five-star St Regis Singapore, and remained away from view as Trump arrived and had lunch with Mr Lee.

But Kim broke cover on Monday evening around 9pm as he was seen leaving his hotel, less than a mile from where Trump is staying, under heavy guard before climbing into his limousine.

His first stop was a waterfront park with futuristic installations, Gardens by the Bay, which boasts the largest glass greenhouse and tallest indoor waterfall in the world.

Police and onlookers were also seen gathering outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel, which resembles a giant surfboard perched on three columns at the mouth of the Singapore River.

Kim later arrived at the hotel and was taken to the top floor, which features an infinity pool overlooking the city, online observers said.

He was then expected to visit the city’s Esplanade before calling it a night.

The leader, who is believed to be 34, has rarely venture outside his country since taking the reins of power in 2011, following the death of his father.

Before that it is believed he studied in Switzerland under an alias.

Earlier this year he made his first foreign visit as ‘Supreme Leader’, taking a train to Beijing to meet with Chines leader Xi Jinping ahead of the Trump summit.
