Kim Kardashian expresses frustration that people got mad she did not try to ‘cancel’ Balenciaga

Kim Kardashian addressed her response to being called out for not speaking out fast enough about Balenciaga’s ‘disturbing’ ad campaign that featured a child holding a teddy bear dressed in a BDSM outfit.

Despite speaking out against the controversial images, the reality star, 42, said she still came under fire while appearing on Monday’s episode of the Angie Martinez IRL Podcast.

Initially, the entrepreneur said she didn’t know what was happening as she is ‘not in this campaign’ and felt that she ‘completely denounced’ child porn.

Still, she said ‘people got mad’ that she didn’t call for the brand to be cancelled or post ‘f**k you, Balenciaga.’

‘There is absolutely no place or an ounce to even play with anything with children like any sexualization of children,’ the SKIMS founder made clear. ‘There’s not an ounce of that should be in our brains, in our society. I get that.’

She continued: ‘I couldn’t have been more clear, this is horrifying, this is disturbing.’

Despite telling her more than 337 million Instagram followers that the controversial ad ‘disgusted’ her last month, Kim said ‘no matter what’ she says ‘there will be people who have a problem’ with whatever she says.

The mother-of-four also spoke about the exhausting toll that being dragged into a ‘narrative’ that has nothing to do with her.

Despite her best efforts, she said she knows that she can lean on her family and talk about ‘life’ and what makes them ‘happy.’

‘The closer we are the more we can tune it all out,’ she explained. ‘We have these deep conversations about what’s going on in the world.’

Earlier in the interview, Kardashian’s admitted that co-parenting with ex Kanye West has been ‘really f***ing hard.’

‘I had the best dad and I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them, you know,’ she said.

The star added: ‘So like if they don’t know things that are being said or what’s happening in the world like why would I ever bring that energy to them. You know, that’s like real heavy, heavy grown up s***. That they are not ready to, like, deal with.’

Kim talked about how she has protected her former spouse to protect their kids.

‘I will protect that to the end of the Earth as long as I can,’ she said.

Kim has truly done all that she can to keep her children away from the drama and even calls her ‘best friends’ the teachers at their school, who keep her in the loop of what the kids are talking about.

She revealed: ‘None of the [other] kids have ever said anything to my kids, When stuff’s going down I protect stuff as far as the TVs and the content that’s on. It is [a fulltime job].’

She got candid as she admitted: ‘[It’s] worth it because of course I want to disassociate in specific thoughts and things being said because that’s not me, but at the same time in my home, I could be going through something but if we’re riding to school and they want to listen to their dad’s music, no matter what is going on in the world, I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and singalong and act like nothing’s wrong.

‘As soon as I drop them off I can have a good cry.’

She later got emotional again as she said that her kids will thank her years later for not bashing their father publicly.

Last month, Kim and Kanye finally settled their divorce after an ugly public battle that raged on for almost two years since they split.

The pair have now come to an accord on the custody of their four kids, parenting plans and division of their multimillion dollar real estate portfolio.

Kardashian will get getting $200,000 in child support monthly, TMZ reported on November 29 after reviewing court docs. West, 45, and Kardashian will share joint custody and have ‘equal access’ to their four kids.

Insiders told TMZ that Kardashian will have custody of the children most of the time.

Under terms of the agreement, West will be responsible for 50 percent of the educational and security expenses for the four kids.

West and Kardashian agreed to attend mediation should they have a parenting disagreement, according to the outlet. Should one not attend the session, the attending parent will get to make the decision on the topic at hand.

Kim married Kanye in Florence, Italy in 2014, and welcomed four children with him. She ultimately filed to end the marriage in February 2021.
