Kim Kardashian’s plans to significantly renovate her Hidden Hills, California, property seem to have run afoul of her neighbors.
One neighbor of the 40-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has filed legal documents to put a halt to her future construction plans, according to documents obtained by People.
Her plans for the estate would require building several structures, including an ‘underground vault, subterranean parking, an attached subterranean “wellness center” and a detached guardhouse’ on the grounds of her home.

According to the legal documents, resident Sarah Key made the filing and has named the Hidden Hills Community Association, not Kim, as the respondent.
She is asking the association to stop Kim’s plan to ‘flatten two hills’ and build upon ‘two high-pressure gas transmission lines,’ as she does not want the area to lose its ‘natural and rustic county setting.’
She also shared her fears that building upon the gas lines will put ‘Hidden Hills community members at risk of catastrophic bodily injury and irreparable real personal property damage.’
The filing adds that Kim’s plans ‘can and will cause irreparable harm at a minimum to the destruction of two hills of Hidden Hills’ and ‘moving forward these two development projects may cause loss of a life.’

Kim and her estranged husband Kanye West purchased the house for a reported $20 million in 2014.
They lived with her mother Kris Jenner while the property was undergoing renovations and they moved in to the estate in 2017.
Last year, Architectural Digest described the renovations on the home as transforming it from a ‘suburban McMansion’ to a ‘futuristic Belgian monastery.’
Although Kim was initially a fan of the mansion as is, Kanye took an active interest in reshaping its design, something he’d long had a passion for.

After meeting him in Europe, Kanye gave the Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt the job of creating the home’s all-white minimalist design.
‘When I saw the kind of work he was doing, I thought, This man could design Batman’s house. I had to work with him,’ Kanye said, adding, ‘It was a coup to get Axel to come to Calabasas to redo a McMansion, which is essentially what the house was.’
Although an all-white home might seem like a disaster waiting to happen with four small children, the spaciousness of the Hidden Hills home leaves plenty of options for North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two.
‘The kids ride their scooters down the hallways and jump around on top of the low Axel tables, which they use as a kind of stage,’ Kanye explained.
But Kim added that they don’t treat their home like a temple, even if it might resemble one.
‘In the end, we don’t take it too seriously. We’re not going to be fanatics,’ she said.
Fully stocked: The home has ‘Pentagon-like security,’ a ‘show kitchen’ and an everyday ‘staff kitchen,’ a master bedroom ‘the size of an airplane hangar,’ according to a 2019 Vogue story
In a 2019 Vogue story, writer writer Jonathan Van Meter described ‘Pentagon-like security’ that he had to go through before entering the home.
Kim has two kitchens inside the house, a ‘staff kitchen’ that the family uses day to day and a ‘show kitchen’ that she uses for entertaining.
The house is enormous even for a family of six, and Kim’s master bedroom was described as ‘the size of an airplane hangar,’ with a master bathroom that ‘offers a shower big enough for a basketball team.’
Kim and Kanye began dating in 2012 and were married in 2014 in Florence, Italy, but Kim filed for divorce in February.
