Kim Woodburn launches attack on Phillip Schofield as he admits affair

Kim Woodburn has launched another scathing attack on Phillip Schofield after he admitted to having an affair with a young colleague on This Morning.

On Friday, Phillip, 61, quit ITV and was dropped by his talent agency YMU after admitting to the affair, having made his last appearance on the show alongside Holly Willoughby on Thursday 18 May.

Former Celebrity Big Brother star Kim, 81, has had a number of on air run-ins with Phil over the years, at one point branding him a ‘big phoney’ live on This Morning, and this month branded him ‘an obnoxious, horrible man’.

And now, ex How Clean Is Your House? star Kim, has called out Kim for being ‘rude’ and ‘judgemental’ after news of his affair broke.

She wrote in The Sun: ‘He was almost always rude, judgmental and looked at his guests as if they’d just fallen out of a piece of cheese.

‘It’s astonishing he had the nerve to look down at others given the sordid secrets he was hiding.’

She added: ‘I’ve been told he could be ghastly to runners and researchers, usually youngsters who needed the money and were scared to speak up.’

Earlier this month, before Phillip’s departure from ITV, Kim broke his silence over claims he and his This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby had a backstage fallout and were ‘barely speaking’ off-camera.

Speaking to Dan Wooton on GB News about Phillip, Kim said: ‘I’ve had so many run-ins, he’s an obnoxious, horrible man and I don’t know why he’s still on television.

‘I went on his show and he insulted me, he was rude, he was horrible. He was laughing at me, he was actually snickering at me.

‘He should not be on television, he’s a cruel, brutal little man and he’s full of himself.’

And Kim has since launched a double attack on Holly, claiming the presenter ‘isn’t as nice as she makes out’ after branding her a ‘two-faced b***h’ for allowing Phillip to ‘insult people’ on This Morning.

Following Phillip’s bombshell revelation, Kim doubled down on her insistence that Holly should depart the ITV show while also accusing her of not calling out her co-star’s alleged ‘rude’ behaviour on the programme.

Backlash: Kim also previously slammed Holly Willoughby, 42, and branded her a 'two-faced b***h' for allowing former Phillip to 'insult people' on This Morning

While appearing at an event in Birmingham on Friday, Kim told Gaydio that Holly should ‘also go’, adding: ‘I don’t think she will have a choice.’

‘She isn’t as nice as she makes out.’

Kim went on to add that Holly lacks any personality ‘whatsoever’ and accused her of ‘plotting’ to ‘get rid’ of Phillip.

She went on: ‘When he is being to rude to people she never once told him he was being nasty and she lets him do it.

‘I think she should go, and I think she will go.’

Meanwhile, Kim couldn’t resist laying into Phillip either as she declared she ‘didn’t feel sorry’ for him amid his fall from grace and told how he’s had his This Morning job for ‘too long’.

She stated: ‘Give it to somebody else who is nice and friendly. When somebody is rude and nasty and vicious, which he’s been with me, I can’t feel sorry for him.

‘He’s had 20-odd years of earning over £1 million a year. He’s had the job too long.

It comes after Kim previously shared her feelings on the presenters amid their alleged feud during an appearance on earlier this month.

She said of Holly: ‘Well she’s a two-faced b**ch isn’t she? I’ll say it again, Holly Willoughby is not all sweetness and light.’

She continued: ‘For years she said “I’ll stick by Phil, I love Phil, we love each other”. The moment she knows that bullets are being fired at Phil she’s now saying “I’ll work without him, I’ll run the show without him”.

‘What a two-faced b***h. I’ll say what I said the other evening… she’s sat there and watched Phillip insult people. He was very unkind to me, I’m a tough nut but it hurt.

‘She’s paid to have a point of view but she’s taken shed loads of money to go, “Oh Phil.” They need to go.’

On Friday, Phillip admitted to an affair with a younger male colleague, which he claimed was ‘unwise but not illegal’, in a lengthy statement, in which he also apologised to his wife and family.

The ‘unwise’ relationship took place during his nearly 30-year marriage to his wife Stephanie, 59, and Phillip said he was ‘so very sorry’ for being unfaithful.

Stephanie, who shares two kids Ruby, 27, and Molly, 29, with Phillip, issued a statement when her husband came out as gay in a moving This Morning segment in 2020.

Phillip Schofield’s statement in full as he admits affair with young This Morning colleague:

I am making this statement via the Daily Mail, to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story [sic] which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.

The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them, and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on This Morning. I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.

Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than a just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over…

I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife…

I am resigning from ITV with immediate effect, expressing my immense gratitude to them for all the amazing opportunities that they have given me.

I will reflect on my very bad judgement in both participating in the relationship and then lying about it.

Phillip stepped down from his This Morning hosting duties last weekend after more than 20 years on the airwaves before confirming the affair in a statement to the Daily Mail on Friday.

He has also resigned from ITV and will not host the British Soap Awards. He has also been dropped by his agents at YMU ‘with immediate effect’.

In a statement, the former ITV presenter said: ‘I am making this statement via the Daily Mail, to whom I have already apologised personally for misleading, through my lawyer who I also misled, about a story [sic] which they wanted to write about me a few days ago.

After his statement, an ITV spokesman said: ‘We are deeply disappointed by the admissions of deceit made tonight by Phillip Schofield.

‘The relationships we have with those we work with are based on trust. Philip made assurances to us which he now acknowledges were untrue and we feel badly let down.

‘We accept his resignation from ITV and therefore can confirm that he will not be appearing on ITV as had previously been stated.’

Following his statement, Phillip has also parted company with his management team YMU after 35 years.

Mary Bekhait, the Group CEO of YMU Group, said: ‘Honesty and integrity are core values for YMU’s whole business, defining everything we do. Talent management is a relationship based entirely on trust.

‘This week, we have learned important new information about our client Phillip Schofield.

‘These facts contradicted what Phillip had previously told YMU, as well as the external advisors we had brought in to support him.

‘As a result, on Thursday we agreed to part company with Phillip, with immediate effect.’
