The Pussycat Dolls star, 39, is one of 12 new celebrities who will take to the rink in January for the ITV series and was getting into shape with Mark, 36, in London.

Go on girl! Kimberly Wyatt showed off her impressive skating skills during a gruelling Dancing On Ice training session with her professional partner Mark Hanretty on Thursday

She looked confident on her skates as she perfected the basic moves and turns as Mark kept a close eye on her before joining in for some synchronized sections.

Despite her graceful start Kimberly fell over at one point and ended up nearly on her knees on the ice.

Speaking about the exciting new gig on Heart Radio this month with her bandmate Ashley Roberts, Kimberley gushed: ‘I have signed up for Dancing on Ice! I’m nervous, that ice is going to hit hard.’

She added: ‘I’m just excited to see what I can do on there. I’m up for a challenge!’

Ashley went on to praise her band mate, gushing: ‘Let me tell you, I’ve known her for what 20 years now. She is focused, determined, she has got the most amazing balletic lines, I mean I think you’re going to smash it.’

Giving advice to her pal, Ashley – who was formerly a judge on Dancing On Ice – went on: ‘The ice isn’t forgiving. I did sit on the other side of it, but I just think go out there and have a good time, you’re so athletic, your so focused, you’ve got our vote!’

Meanwhile, Kimberly admitted to feeling the ‘pressure’ to perform well amid her dancing background.

Ashely asked her: ‘Do you feel the pressure though? Because when I did Strictly I felt a bit of pressure on myself because everybody knows you’ve got a bit of dancing background and stuff, but skating is different. Do you feel the pressure?

With Kimberly responding: ‘I do feel the pressure. If anything, being there supporting you on Strictly has given me a little bit of insight into what I’m about to put myself through, just with a few blades on the bottom of my feet which is great.’

Kimberley is taking part in this year’s competition alongside Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor, Happy Mondays dancer Bez, Paralympian Stef Reid, Love Island’s Liberty Poole and rugby star Ben Foden.

Paul Gascoigne’s son, Regan Gascoigne, pop star Rachel Stevens, professional dancer Brendan Cole, presenter Ria Hebden, BMX Olympic silver medallist Kye Whyte and The Vamps’ Connor Ball complete the line up.

ITV confirmed in September that John Barrowman, 54, has been axed from the series, five months after he apologised for exposing himself on the set of other TV shows in historic incidents.

The entertainer, who joined DOI last year and appeared on two seasons, previously admitted to ‘tomfoolery’ on the sets of Doctor Who, where he began playing Captain Jack Harkness in 2005 and spin-off series Torchwood a year later.

A source told The Sun: ‘This will be devastating for him. Clearly ITV feel it’s not a good look to have someone like John centre-stage on a family-friendly show.’

John will no longer appear on Dancing On Ice but continues working for ITV as host of All Star Musicals, an ITV spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline.

An ITV representative said: ‘We thank John Barrowman for two brilliant years on the Dancing on Ice panel and are pleased to be working with him again as host of the forthcoming All Star Musicals specials.’

John’s team said: ‘John is thrilled to be returning to work for ITV as host on the new All Star Musicals,’ but declined to comment on his departure from the skating show.

No charges were brought against the media personality after allegations about him exposing himself on the set of Doctor Who were revealed in May.

John said his behaviour on set was to ‘defuse awkwardness’ whenever he was filming a sex scene in Torchwood but later conceded the act was ‘juvenile’.
