Kirk Cousins performs hilarious celebration after setting franchise record in Atlanta Falcons’ dramatic overtime win over Buccaneers

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins needed to be taught how to ‘Swag Surf’ in the run up to Thursday night’s contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While he may not have known how to do the dance before sitting down with Amazon reporter Taylor Rooks, he sure broke it out after leading the Falcons to a stunning victory.

‘Swag Surfin’ is a dance that is done to the song of the same name by the Atlanta hip-hop group Fast Life Youngstaz and when the song plays at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the crowd gets into it.

So Kirk got into it too, breaking out the dance after tossing a walk-off touchdown pass to KhaDarel Hodge in overtime to win the game for Atlanta.

Cousins rocked from side-to-side as the Atlanta anthem blasted throughout the stadium on a night where he shattered the team’s single-game passing record.

The previous record was held by Matt Ryan, who was honored in Atlanta before the game as he was enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor.

With Ryan in attendance, Cousins completed an astounding 42-of-58 passes for an unbelievable 509 yards and four touchdowns. That yardage is a new franchise record.

It almost didn’t happen. Atlanta forced a crucial three-and-out on Tampa Bay and their quarterback, Baker Mayfield, that gave the Falcons the ball back on their own 20 with 1:14 left in the game with no timeouts and down 30-27.

Cousins whipped in five passes to move the Dirty Birds to the Buccaneers 29 and then quickly spiked the ball with a second left to set up a game-tying field goal from Younghoe Koo.

Atlanta won the coin toss in overtime and made quick work of the extra ten minutes.

Cousins connected twice with Drake London before tossing a short route to Hodge. The undrafted Prairie View A&M graduate then broke a tackle at the 40, slithered through a barely-there gap and then went untouched into the end zone to send Atlanta into rapture.

After starting off their season 1-2, the Falcons have won two-straight games over division rivals New Orleans and now Tampa Bay to move to 3-2 and take the lead in the NFC South.
