Kit Harington says Jon Snow smells like dog and old meat

The saucy sex scene between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen in the finale of Game of Thrones may have left many people feeling all hot under the collar – with many even publicly professing their love for the former member of the Night Watch.

But according to Kit Harington’s new interview with The Cut, in reality, most modern people would be completely turned off by his character the minute they came within sniffing distance.

Kit and his on-screen lover Emilia Clarke recently got in front of the cameras together once again – albeit in a much more PG appearance – as the faces of Dolce and Gabbana’s new perfume campaign.

The commercials see the TV duo wandering through the streets of Naples, Italy, before both actors are pulled into dancing and singing with groups of locals.

Gorgeous Emilia with her brunette locks and curve-hugging black dress and Kit in a dapper three-piece suit look miles away from their most famous characters in the clips – and that’s a good thing, according to Kit, as Jon Snow is the last person to hold up as an example of enticing scents.

When asked what the gruff soldier of the North would likely smell like, Kit replied: ‘I can tell you exactly what Jon Snow smells like.

‘He smells like wood smoke, wet dog, and meat that’s gone off,’ he explained.

Kit also revealed during the interview that his trademark long mane is much better loved by his fans than by himself.

‘You know, I cannot wait to chop it off and then I’ll stop being asked about it,’ he said. ‘Look, I don’t do much to it, I just get out of the shower and let it dry. And it sort of naturally dries in an intriguing way for people, I guess.’

As for the ads, they were released soon after Kit and Emilia’s Game of Thrones characters got hot and heavy on the seventh season finale – without knowing they are related by blood.

Fans had been left delighted by their steamy sex scene in the finale, which many had predicted was coming.

The pair, whose romantic relationship has been building throughout the penultimate season of the HBO fantasy drama, finally gave into their passion as they sailed north from Dragonstone, to face off against the dreaded White Walker threat.

Jon sneaked into ‘ quarters and his lovestruck queen was only too quick to invite him inside, resulting in the pair making love while at sea.

In an unsettling twist, the couple’s sizzling session between the sheets played out as Bran Stark confirmed the bombshell truth about Jon’s parentage that had already been widely hinted at on the show.

Rather than being the bastard son of Ned Stark and an unknown woman he bedded while at war, Jon’s real parents are Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, who wed in a secret ceremony before his birth, making Jon a legitimate son and the true heir to the Iron Throne.
