Shoppers are obsessing over a $49 vacuum cleaner that claims to kill 99.9 per cent of germs and dust mites and keep living spaces clean and hygienic.

Mum-of-two Carolina Mccauley, from Perth, offered her review on social media after she gave the handheld UV gadget a go around her home.

‘It’s so cute. The UV lights are a nice touch. The vacuum is good for getting rid of dust mites,’ she said.

She gave the vacuum a rating of six out of 10. 

The UV ultraviolet light claims to target 99.9 per cent of bacteria while the dual vibratory pads assist with the removal of dust mites from bedding.

The front-end LED searchlight is convenient to clean places where dust and mite are hiding.

The cordless vacuum is great for cleaning mattresses, pillows, sofas and curtains.

One customer said she noticed the ‘fantastic’ device made a ‘real difference’ after she cleaned her home. 

‘Its safety feature means that it will only emit UV rays when it is on a flat surface. Very handy for mattresses and pillow covers. Sucks in even the tiniest of dust particles and has a HEPA filter. Very happy with my purchase,’ she said.

While another shopper said she thought the product was average.

‘The suction is okay but it gets hot so quickly,’ she said.
