Kmart Australia shoppers rush to buy $5.50 gadget to tackle annoying summer problem

Kmart fans have been racing into stores to grab a bargain buy that promises to tackle one of the most annoying problems Aussies experience during summer.

The Fly Repellent Fan, $5.50, is a powerful battery operated defence against dreaded flies that create a nuisance when BBQing or dining outdoors during warmer months.

Amber Hope, from WA, raved about the ‘incredible’ fans in an online members group and said they keep camping BBQ platters and alfresco dining completely ‘fly free’.

The ‘game changing’ lightweight, cord-free design features child safe. soft-touch rotor blades and quiet operation so that it banishes flies without any added noise.

And shoppers have said they are the ‘perfect’ addition to any outdoor table, with many praising the device for how effectively it does the job.

People said that the bargain outdoor fan had the added benefit of doing away with the need for intense smelling insect repellent sprays, which can be quite toxic.

The mini fans come with an added handle on the bottom that makes them a ‘no brainer’ addition to camping trips or when travelling around in vans and caravans.

And the ‘fantastic’ gadgets are already flying off Kmart shelves across the country, with many raving about how much cheaper this version was than other models.

‘These work really well, I was surprised by how effective they are,’ one said.

‘Excellent value for money. Great little item for use when eating outdoors,’ another added.

‘I got mine for $15, that’s cheap!’ a third chimed in.

Given that each fan was under $6, several Aussies said they planned to ‘stock up’ on multiple fans for outdoor summer gatherings, especially Christmas.

This comes after Michael Provis, a British expat living in NSW, shared the Kmart Electronic Facial Mister ($11) online.

Michael, who is already dreading the infamous Australian summer heat and uses the mister to cool off in the car, called the bargain Kmart buy his best find of 2024.

The facial mister, which can be used to cool skin down and as part of a moisturising skincare regime, comes with an easy/off button that releases refreshing hydration.

And fans couldn’t stop raving about the popular compact mister, with those who already own one saying they ‘100 per cent recommend’ them.
