‘Obsessed with the new velvet love couch… It’s gorgeous, I’m in love’ one excited shopper said in a Facebook group.

Another customer said: ‘We bought two and they are beautiful. I’m very satisfied with this purchase,’ while one added: ‘Got mine today, it’s beautiful going to paint legs gold.’

Many have already styled the sofa with trendy cushions and rugs, while others said the sofa would be better suited for the bedroom, dressing room or office rather than an ‘actual couch for lounging on’.

‘Looks nice as a display or decor though,’ one woman suggested.

Another added: ‘Bought the velvet couch for my office. Feels lovely.’

Many pointed out the ‘thin’ legs, saying it ‘doesn’t look solid’, but the retailer claims the sofa can hold up to 200 kilograms.
