A foster mother was left ‘wiping away tears’ by a Kmart cashier’s selfless act of kindness.
Sydney nurse Linley, who did not wish to share her second name, became ’embarrassed and flustered’ at the checkout of the discount store when she realised she had left her wallet in the car on November 9.
A kindhearted retail assistant attempted to show her how to use Afterpay, and during the course of the conversation Linley revealed she is a healthcare worker who is also a foster carer for three young kids.

After hitting another roadblock while processing her order, she decided to leave the items and come back with her wallet after the school run.
But when she returned later that day, she was stunned to find they had already been paid for by the cashier.
A note left with the items read: ‘Please accept this as a blessing from me to you and your family.’
Linley told Daily Mail Australia the random act of kindness left her in floods of tears and she felt ‘blessed’ to have been on the receiving end of such generosity.
‘Those sorts of deeds are few and far between and speak to the nature of the individual,’ she said.
Linley said she was left in tears over this note left with her items
‘She did it quietly and without the need to be recognised for it – totally selfless, generous and kind. I haven’t been on the receiving end of such generosity before.’
The carer shared a Facebook post about her experience in the hope that it will encourage others to ‘pay it forward’.
The selfless act drew widespread praise, with one woman writing :’Wow what a heartfelt gesture, there are some beautiful caring people out there. Employee of the year definitely.’
A second added: ‘There is kindness in this world. I would have bawled my eyes out at the checkout!’
