Konrad Bien-Stephen reveals the truth about his split from Abbie Chatfield

Konrad Bień-Stephen has revealed he was single when he struck up a romance with Megan Marx on the set of Channel 10’s new series The Challenge.

The 32-year-old confirmed he had broken up with his ex-girlfriend Abbie Chatfield one month before arriving in Buenos Aires to film the show in September.

‘Abbie and I had broken up a month before going in the house [to film] so I was very much single,’ the carpenter told The Daily Telegraph.

‘I wasn’t going in there looking for love or for any type of relationship or anything. That wasn’t my mindset going in,’ he added.

He confirmed he did ‘hook up’ with Megan but they are just ‘friends and not dating’. 

Konrad went on to say he and Abbie broke up ‘amicably’ and had ‘both moved on with their lives’.

‘It is not like we are in contact every day, but there are no bad feelings there,’ he said.

‘Abbie and I had broken up a month before going in the house [to film] so I was very much single,’ the 32-year-old carpenter told The Daily Telegraph 

It comes after Daily Mail Australia broke the story that Konrad and his co-star Megan hooked up soon after arriving in Buenos Aires in September.

Two separate sources confirmed the pair’s tryst, with one revealing: ‘Oh, my gosh! The drama is insane. Konrad is sleeping with Megan.

‘Konrad said he was single and his relationship with Abbie was over because she broke up with him.’

The TV and radio host took to Instagram at the time to reveal their break-up had nothing to do with their open relationship status.

Admitting she felt ‘anxious’ about releasing a statement, she said she probably won’t share her relationship publicly again.
