Krispy Kreme Australia is set to give away 100,000 free doughnuts for one day only.

Diners can head into a Krispy Kreme store on Friday, June 4 to claim a free doughnut in New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia to celebrate National Doughnut Day – and there’s no catch.  

Given the current lockdown restrictions in Melbourne, there will be a delay in Victoria to ensure Krispy Kreme is adhering to the state’s government advice.

Which stores are giving away free doughnuts? 

NEW SOUTH WALES: Auburn, Central Lee (Sydney CBD), Chatswood, Liverpool, Mascot, Parramatta (Level 1), Parramatta (Level 5), Penrith, Mt Druitt, Sydney Domestic T3, Sydney Domestic T2

QUEENSLAND: Redbank Plains, Shell Nudgee, Pacific Fair, Albert St (Brisbane CBD), Acacia Ridge, Surfers Paradise, Brisbane Jetstar (Domestic Terminal)

WESTERN AUSTRALIA: Myaree, Whitford City, Cannington and Hay St

In preparation for the big day, the doughnut chain will be glazing 2,000 Original Glazed doughnuts per hour on its production line – that’s 33 doughnuts a minute. 

‘National Doughnut Day is our absolute favourite day of the year – we love sharing the joy of our famous Original Glazed doughnuts and relish the chance to put a smile on our customers’ faces,’ Nicola Steele, retail director at Krispy Kreme Australia, said. 

Fans have long been mesmerised by the glaze waterfall in stores, which luxuriously coats doughnuts with a secret glaze recipe that dates all the way back to the 1930s.

For those living in Victoria, the chain will monitor the situation closely and seek to keep staff and customers as safe as possible until the authorities advise a change in restrictions. 

Social distancing will apply in-store as per state government regulations and store drive-thrus will be open for a contactless experience. 

In light of Covid-19, Krispy Kreme is taking extra precautions with hygiene and social distancing to protect employees and customers in a safe and clean environment.
