Krispy Kreme brings back four iconic fan favorite donuts because of huge demand for the flavors

Krispy Kreme is bringing back four fan-favorite donuts after years of fans pleading with the chain to revive the intriguing flavors. 

On Monday, the dessert empire shared that their banana pudding, key lime, chocolate Kreme, and strawberries and Kreme would be back in stores immediately. 

The good news was heralded on Krispy Kreme’s social media channels Monday when thousands of followers weighed in with their thanks – and hunger. 

‘I’m gonna need that Key Lime,’ one Facebook user wrote. 

The announcement comes with a catch, however, as the four donuts are only back in Krispy Kreme stores while supplies last.

Krispy Kreme officials say they are ‘excited’ for the four specialty donuts to make their way back into stores across the country. 

‘We’re excited to treat our fans with this limited-time re-release … these four doughnuts are definitely back by popular demand,’ said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme.

The banana pudding is a doughnut filled with Banana Pudding Kreme and hand-dipped in yellow icing. 

On top, the pastry comes with white Kreme and vanilla wafer cookies.

The chocolate Kreme pie doughnut comes filled with chocolate custard Kreme and is dipped in chocolate icing. That is topped with Kreme and mini chocolate chips.

The key lime pie doughnut is filled with key lime Kreme and frosted with lime green icing. A key lime pie donut, of course, is not complete without graham cracker pieces on top. 

Lastly, the strawberry Kreme donut is filled with strawberry and Kreme filling. 

The donut is dipped in strawberry icing and has swirls of white icing on top. 

‘Our fans know what they want, so we thought, “let’s give them what they want,” said Skena. 

Both the banana pudding and strawberries sand Kreme donuts were introduced in 2018 while the chocolate Kreme donut first debuted in 2019 and key lime in 2021.

The four donuts are ‘back by demand’ according to Krispy Kreme officials 

The announcement, posted to social media on Tuesday, was quickly applauded by fans who said they are glad to see the items return. 

‘These all look amazing but my favorite is lemon filled. They are the best!’ one person wrote. 

‘I think we need to do a Krispy Kreme run!’ added a commenter. 

Krispy Kreme currently operates some 358 stores across the U.S. 

For those who would love to try out the fan-favorite donuts, the limited-edition pastries will be available in six-count boxes at select grocery stores including Walmart, Kroger, Food Lion, Publix, Stater Brothers, Wakefern, and more.
