Kristen Bell sings for folks stranded by hurricane Irma

With Hurricane Irma causing devastation in Florida, Kristen Bell has been helping folks stuck in the city of Orlando ride out the storm.

On Saturday the 37-year-old performed for children and their parents at Meadows Woods Middle School that is being used as a shelter, according to ENews.

The school posted a video of the actress, who voiced Princess Ana in Disney hit Frozen, singing For The First Time In Forever on its Facebook page.

‘I hope maybe some of these songs are running through your head the rest of the day and will take your mind off of it,’ Kristen told the audience.

And she posted an Instagram jokingly captioned:’When youre #singinginahurricane, your volunteer back up dancers can & will steal the show,’ adding, ‘Richard and Rebecca everyone! #hurricaneirma.’

Kristen has been taking shelter at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel after being stranded in Florida while filming her latest movie, Netflix comedy Like Father.

Orlando is under a Hurricane Warning and expecting wind gusts of up to 75mph, but is outside of the storm surge zones under mandatory evacuation.

And the beautiful blonde been doing more than singing to keep people’s spirits up.

On Friday she helped secure a room at her hotel for members of her Frozen co-star Josh Gad’s family, who live on the state’s east coast.

And on Saturday afternoon, Dexter alum Jennifer Carpenter tweeted a photo of her grandmother and aunt, writing, ‘Gma&aunt were ready2 wear helmets N closet under eye of #HurricanIrma til @IMKristenBell found them a way out!!’

Jennifer, who starred with Kristen in the 2002 film People Are Dead, did not reveal how she had helped her family.

On Sunday morning, Kristen spoke via Facetime to California news station CBS Sacramento, where her dad, Tom Bell, works as the news director.

 ‘This morning, we visited a shelter to try and sing for some people and lift their spirits a little bit,” she said.

The actress said she and her film crew of about 86 people have offered to help out.

‘We’ve just told the front desk that we have an able-bodied crew and if we need to deliver toilet paper and water to people’s rooms, we’re ready to be on staff,’ she said.

Kristen also said a ‘couple thousand seniors’ had recently arrived after evacuating from southern Florida.

‘We’ve got a lot of potties in the hallway. We’ve got a lot of wheelchairs. And we’re making it work,’ she said. ‘I’m going to call some Bingo later on this afternoon.’

Irma had been reclassified as a category 3 hurricane at the time of writing with winds up to 129mph.
