An Australian woman has admitted she has fallen in love with her dying best friend’s husband after spending every day over the last 12 months with him and his children.
The woman, known only as Katie, phoned KIIS 1065 radio show Kyle and Jackie O riddled with guilt a week after she and her friend’s husband locked lips in the hospital carpark.
The pair had been to visit their friend and wife in hospital where she is expected to die from cancer in coming weeks.

The shocking admission caused Jackie to burst into tears and Kyle to take the high-road and warn Katie she is in a very difficult, emotionally charged situation.
‘It is selfish, but I don’t blame you,’ he said.
‘You need to pump the brake on these feelings and tell him that if anything does happen it can’t be while she is alive,’ he said.
While Jackie exclaimed her disdain for the situation: ‘I don’t know how you could have done that, I feel sorry for her.’
Katie said she had been keeping her developing feelings to herself for some time but over the last two months she has been feeling a ‘vibe’ from her friend’s husband.
It started with affectionate hand touches and back rubs – before they ‘both leaned in’ for a ‘very passionate kiss’ in the carpark after a traumatic visit.
The nature of the kiss made Katie believe something long-term could eventuate from the emotional affair.
Since then Katie said she has felt horrible for betraying her friend’s trust and wants to tell her about the kiss.

She explained her friend has been fighting cancer for five years but over the past 12 months the condition has become terminal and Katie has stepped up for the family.
She takes the children to school and spends her days looking after the family while her best friend is in hospital, slowly dying.
Kyle and Jackie O both agreed telling the friend would do nothing but cause her pain at a time when she doesn’t need any more.
‘I get it will lift your guilt, but it will break her,’ Kyle explained.
‘The least you as her best friend and he as her husband can do for dying girl is to respect her and let her die with some dignity.’
And the radio station’s fans agreed labeling her selfish for even considering telling the woman the truth.
‘The time for being loyal passed when you kissed your friend’s husband, don’t cause her pain now because you feel guilty, that’s selfish,’ one woman blasted.
While a man who lost a wife to cancer a few years ago advised Katie to not only keep silent but to stop the relationship.
‘Now isn’t the right time,’ he said, explaining the man is probably lonely and has been left devastated by his wife’s condition.

‘I can see you had good intentions for the family, but he isn’t in the right mind at the moment.’
Others said the mum is probably already worrying about her husband and children and devastated she will never see them grow up, to add any more grief to that would be cruel.
While 95 percent of callers said Katie should keep it to herself one woman said ‘only she will know if it is the right time to say something’.
‘When my mum died she encouraged dad and her best friend to get together, because she was worried for us and how we would do without her,’ she said.
‘You are investing so much love into the family situation – you are going to form an emotional connection,’ she added.
Kyle and Jackie both agreed Katie should deny anything happened if asked directly – to spare the woman.
Katie cried as people grilled her and said their scathing responses didn’t make the situation any clearer for her.
She has decided to think about how the news would impact her friend.
‘After all she is the one I really care about,’ she said.
The unlikely pair have seen each other since the kiss, and are affectionate but haven’t cheated again or discussed the heated moment.
