Major shake-up on The Kyle and Jackie O Show as powerhouse executive producer Sonia ‘Palestine’ Jahshan is poached by Channel Seven’s Sunrise

The Kyle and Jackie O Show’s executive producer Sonia Jahshan is saying goodbye to radio – for now – and joining the team at Channel Seven breakfast show Sunrise.

Ms Jahshan, better known to KIIS FM listeners by her on-air nickname ‘Palestine’, announced the news on Wednesday via LinkedIn.

‘A forever goal has been to pursue my passion for television and later this year, I am excited to announce that I will commencing a new role as Senior Producer for Sunrise [on] Channel Seven,’ Ms Jahshan wrote.

Confirming her departure was amicable, Ms Jahshan thanked her colleagues Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson for their support over the past five years. 

‘Throughout the years we’ve gone from pillar to post, beating records and reaching new heights through delivering innovative and new content,’ she wrote.

‘Achieving some of the biggest radio ratings Kyle and Jackie O have ever had has been a career highlight of mine,’ she continued.

‘I cannot thank Kyle and Jackie O enough for their support and trusting me to steer their beast of show.’

‘I will forever be thankful to them,’ she concluded.

Jahshan will depart KIIS FM at the end of the year, an ARN spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday.

‘I would like to thank her enormously for her contribution, dedication and passion, and wish her the very best in her next adventure,’ said Derek Bargwanna, the Head of KIIS Network. 

Jahshan joined ARN in January 2017 as a senior producer. She worked her way up the ranks and was appointed executive producer in January 2019 following the departure of Bruno Bouchet

‘Sonia’s departure has opened up a rare opportunity to join Australia’s biggest and most successful radio show, and a global search is now underway to find a new executive producer to join Kyle, Jackie and the KIIS team in 2023,’ he added. 

Ms Jahshan joined ARN in January 2017 as a senior producer.

She worked her way up the ranks and was named executive producer in January 2019, following the departure of Bruno Bouchet.
