Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson reveal the shock contraband they snuck into the Columbian prison where Cocaine Cassie was jailed

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson have revealed they once smuggled a phone into convicted drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury’s Colombian prison cell.

‘Cocaine Cassie’ appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show this week to promote her new tell-all book and Kyle made the shocking revelation before they interviewed the convicted criminal.

‘We smuggled a phone into a Colombian prison, so we could do an interview with Cocaine Cassie when she was still locked up. Do you remember that?’ Kyle, 53, asked his co-host Jackie, 49.

But Jackie did not remember speaking to the convicted drug smuggler in 2018 while she was imprisoned in the Bogota penitentiary.

‘How do you not remember?’ a flabbergasted Kyle asked.

Jackie then questioned how they managed to pull off the stunt.

‘I’ll tell you in the ad break,’ said Kyle. ‘Once again, you want me to give up all my secrets.’

In her interview with the radio hosts, Cassie revealed further details about how she was caught with 5.8kg of cocaine at Bogota international airport on a flight bound for Australia in 2017.

After Jackie asked how the drugs were smuggled, Cassie confirmed she carried the contraband in headphones.

‘They were already pre-wrapped and in gift bags,’ she admitted.

The Adelaide-based woman became a media sensation, earning the moniker ‘Cocaine Cassie’, and has now penned a memoir detailing her side of a terrible story.

‘I stayed on the good side of the guards,’ she told NCA Newswire when asked how she made it through prison life day-by-day.

‘I was a little bit misunderstood in that sense with my inmates because I never argued with the guards.

‘I never caused any problems and you know if they did a search and they found prohibited items like phones and things, it would be the end of the world and I would kind of just go “well like what do you expect, we’re not supposed to have them. It’s their job”.’

Sainsbury now lives in Adelaide with her Colombian partner Tatiana, whom she calls her ‘anchor through all of this’.

Her memoir is Cocaine Cassie: Setting the Record Straight, released by New Holland Publishers.
