Kyle Sandilands has faced an array of health concerns over the years.

But on Wednesday, the radio shock jock revealed he’s finally on the path to fitness, after spending the past few weeks secretly exercising at home.

Speaking to John Laws on his 2SM radio show, the 49-year-old said he’s taken up swimming for the first time in over three decades.

‘I’m a swimmer,’ Kyle revealed.

‘Only just started two weeks ago. Haven’t done that since 16 but, god, four lengths into the pool and I’m exhausted. I’ve got to get out and have a little spell. It’s too much,’ he added.

Unfortunately, Kyle admitted he’d recently suffered a setback after injuring his rib while trying to perform a ‘tornado twirl’ underwater.

‘[To perform a tornado twirl], you swim under the water, and you get your friends to go down under the water and you spin around,’ he explained to John, before getting up and demonstrating the manoeuvre.

Later in the segment, Kyle explained why he prefers to swim in his own backyard pool rather than in public.

‘I’m not down at any public bathing facility,’ Kyle said firmly.

‘Are you afraid you might catch something?’ John asked.

‘No, just insults that I might overhear. People sniggering, kids screaming and running away,’ Kyle joked.

Kyle, who lived rough on the streets as a teenager before becoming a multi-millionaire radio king, spent decades mistreating his body and makes no secret of his various health problems.

He revealed in an October 2019 interview that he was starting to take better care of himself on doctors’ orders, and had stopped drinking excessively and taking drugs.

‘Now, if I did one line, I’d be dead in five seconds,’ he said at the time.

‘I was like a teenage boy my entire life, and that caught up with me… so that had to get sorted out.’
