For the first time since September 2015, reigning FM breakfast champions Kyle And Jackie O lost its top spot to WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda.
And one day after the ratings slump, shock jock Kyle Sandilands was noticeably absent from his golden microphone.
The 47-year-old appears to have fallen ill as he called in sick on Wednesday morning, with co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson presenting the first 10 minutes of the show solo.

Jackie alerted listeners that former Footy Show host Beau Ryan would be filling in for Kyle in his absence.
Beau has stepped in for Kyle in the past.
Beau claimed he received a call around 5am to come in to the Sydney radio station.
‘Poor Beau. His life revolved around being on standby,’ Jackie joked as she awaited for the radio host to arrive.
‘Like I said to Kyle the other day, “If you feel sick, man, just text me.” But he hasn’t messaged me. I’ve got to get his number,’ Beau claimed.
Beau joked that he always apologises to guests and callers when he is in the studio as a temporarily replacement for Kyle.

The fifth survey for 2018 was conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia between Sunday July 15 and Saturday August 18.
As reported by Mumbrella, Tuesday’s results make Jonesy & Amanda Sydney’s highest rating FM breakfast show – beaten only by 2GB’s The Alan Jones Breakfast Show on the AM bandwidth.
Alan Jones topped the breakfast share this survey with a whopping 16.9 per cent.
It’s not the first time, however, that Jonesy and Amanda have given ARN stablemates Kyle and Jackie O a run for their money in the ratings.

In early October 2017, Jonesy & Amanda came in at equal first position with their KIIS FM rivals.
In the lead-up to those ratings results, Jonesy & Amanda had showed strong and steady audience growth.
The last time Kyle & Jackie O slipped to second place in Sydney’s FM breakfast radio market was in September 2015, when Jonesy & Amanda hit number one in Sydney.

Both WSFM and KIIS FM are owned by ARN, so these latest ratings results are unlikely to rattle either station – but it remains to be seen how Kyle will respond to the news.
Tuesday’s survey results show that ARN has maintained the number one network position, clocking up four out of five survey wins so far this year.
In Sydney, ARN hold the number one station with WSFM, and the top two breakfast programs with WSFM’s Jonesy & Amanda and KIIS 1065’s Kyle & Jackie O.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted ARN for comment in relation to this story.
