Kyle Sandilands left fearing for his life after a shocking accident at home: ‘I thought that’s it for me’

Kyle Sandilands shocked his listeners on Thursday by revealing he had a shocking accident at his home which made him fear for his life.

The radio king, 52, said producers were forced to play a pre-recorded episode of The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday after he suffered a shocking fall down the stairs of his mansion.

‘We had to run a pre-done show because I fell from the top of my staircase and rolled and bumped all the way to the bottom and was left splayed out,’ he said.

He said the fall came at the worst possible time as his wife Tegan was away for the night with their one-year-old son Otto, meaning there was no one there to help him.

‘No one was home and I’m like “help”. The nanny wasn’t here and the lights are at the bottom of the stairs, my foot just went and I was so injured,’ he explained.

He added he was worried that it might be the end for him, if help did not quickly arrive. 

‘I thought that’s it for me, this is the beginning of the end,’ he mused.

Fortunately, Kyle was able to eventually get back on his feet and call someone for assistance.

Kyle recently revealed some of his wildest celebrity encounters during his 24-year radio career.

Joining KIIS FM’s Will & Woody on Monday, the radio titan revealed his most surprising confrontations with some of the world’s biggest stars.

Kyle said one of the worst encounters was many years ago when he and co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson were interviewing American funnyman Will Ferrell.

While on air, Jackie kept mispronouncing Will Ferrell’s name as Will Pharell, to which his publicist later responded with a scathing attack on Jackie in the green room that brought her to tears.

‘I walked out and I heard the aftermath and saw Jackie and I just…verbally threatened all of them. I said to Will: “you, your d***head publicist, get the f out of here,”‘ Kyle recalled.

As a consequence of Kyle’s dressing down, his show was blacklisted by the publicist for many years afterwards, costing it some big celebrity interviews.
