And radio host Kyle Sandilands has now revealed his unusual backstage demands during his tenure on the talent show.

The runner, named Elleni, said: ‘Kyle, you should know me.

‘I worked many years ago with you on Idol. I used to open up the Snakes and pull out the orange ones and put them in a bowl for you.’

‘Kyle refused to have any other coloured Snakes… He got so upset one day because someone else did it and didn’t know about that job,’ she added.

Kyle confirmed the story was true, saying: ‘That’s right. The other flavour Snakes used to make me cough and would tickle my throat.
