Kyle Sandilands reveals the act son Otto witnessed that caused the two-year-old to lose respect for him

Kyle Sandilands admitted to getting drunk for the first time in a decade on Wednesday – and has revealed the effect it had on his two-year-old son Otto.

A clip, shared to Kyle and Jackie O’s Instagram on Thursday showed a very merry Kyle, 53, dancing around his living room in front of the toddler.

In the footage, Kyle sang both parts of the iconic Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton hit Islands In The Stream.

Getting very much into the Dolly character, Kyle had wife Tegan Kynaston’s black fur coat wrapped around his head to simulate Dolly’s voluminous locks.

Otto meanwhile, while getting into the spirit of the moment at first, could only stare, bemused, at Dad as he sashayed around the room, before running away.

Commenting on Kyle’s boozy performance, Jackie O, 49, asked Kyle how long he’d been sober.

‘So, how long has it been since you’ve been a bit drunk?,’ Jackie asked.

‘Over a decade, probably,’ responded Kyle.

Kyle admitted he hadn’t even enjoyed a tipple at his April 2023 wedding to Teagan, 38.

Newsreader Brooklyn Ross then chimed in with his own assessment of the performance.

‘You can see the look on Otto’s face,’ he said. It’s like when you realise your dad just isn’t the man you thought.’

Kyle’s manager Bruno Boucher jumped in, too revealing that Kyle was ‘upset’ that he wasn’t very popular at home.

‘Kyle called me all upset and he’s like: “No one in this house likes me”,’ Bruno said.

‘Welcome to the joys of being drunk,’ quipped Jackie.

Tegan and Kyle welcomed a baby boy, Otto, in August 2022.

Just after the baby arrived, Kyle told the Sunday Telegraph that Otto had already won his heart and he couldn’t stop ‘staring’ at him.

‘We just look at him the entire time, like a couple of goons, just staring at him — and then we look at each other and smile,’ Kyle told the publication.

‘And then we [himself and Tegan] have a little tear.’
