Kyle Sandilands slams Al Jazeera’s ‘dumb documentary’ about Pauline Hanson

Kyle Sandilands reveals Pauline Hanson’s infamous tick bite looked like a ‘volcano’ – as he slams Al Jazeera’s ‘dumb documentary’ about One Nation

Kyle Sandilands has spoken about his unlikely friendship with Pauline Hanson, after the One Nation politician personally thanked him in a press conference on Thursday.

Pauline had praised Kyle as one of the few media figures to give her ‘fair go’ after the Al Jazeera news organisation secretly filmed her for an undercover investigation.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday, the radio presenter, 47, revealed he had actually spoken with the controversial Queensland senator the night before.

‘I talked to her last night. I asked her about the big mark on her face and I said, “How does that tick bite look?”‘ Kyle said.

He was referring to Pauline’s claim earlier this week that she was left looking ‘unrecognisable’ after suffering facial paralysis from a tick bite.

Kyle said she ‘downplayed’ the appearance of the bite on the phone, but he thought it resembled a ‘volcano-like welt’ from photos he’d seen.

Kyle also defended Pauline after she appeared to suggest that the 1996 Port Arthur massacre was a government conspiracy in covertly recorded footage from the Al Jazeera documentary How To Sell A Massacre.

‘Who knows – worse things have happened,’ he said. ‘I’ve not seen this dumb documentary – nor do I want to.’

The KIIS FM radio personality also doubted the credibility of Al Jazeera’s undercover journalism.

When told by newsreader Brooklyn Ross that Pauline had claimed the massacre was an inside job, Kyle said he was ‘just another journalist fooled by a documentary’.

Kyle’s unlikely friendship with Pauline, 64, is well documented.

In October last year, he revealed the right-wing firebrand had invited him on a weekend camping trip and even offered to fly him to Queensland via a ‘private jet’.
