Kyler Murray is in line to return for the Arizona Cardinals against the Atlanta Falcons next weekend, head coach Jonathan Gannon has confirmed.

Murray, who signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract with Arizona in 2021, has been out of action since tearing his ACL last December.

Joshua Dobbs had led the Cardinals at quarterback in his absence until he was traded to Minnesota earlier this week before the deadline, completing 63 per cent of his passes with just eight touchdowns and five interceptions in eight games.

But Gannon says Murray will now make his long-awaited return against the Falcons on Sunday if ‘all goes well’ at practice this week.

The 26-year-old has started all 57 games he has played over four seasons, completing 66.8 percent of his passes for 13,848 yards, 84 touchdowns and 41 interceptions.

He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2021, while guiding Arizona into the playoffs following the 2021 season.
