Kylian Mbappe has been accused of rape and sexual harassment at a Swedish hotel where he was staying last week with his friends, according to local media reports.
Police have opened an investigation after allegations were made against the Real Madrid star, the Expressen newspaper reported.
The 25-year-old French footballer earlier dismissed the claims as ‘fake news’ and wrote on X: ‘It’s becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance,’ referring to tomorrow hearing as part of his fight against his former club PSG over £46million in unpaid wages and bonuses.
The footballer was visiting Sweden with friends from Wednesday to Friday last week, staying at the Bank Hotel in the city centre.
It is claimed the alleged rape took place on Thursday. Mbappe had earlier that night visited the Chez Jolie restaurant, before heading to the V nightclub and finally back to his hotel in a black van with his entourage.

Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports that police are investigating a rape at the central Stockholm hotel, which allegedly happened Thursday night.
Investigators and a forensic unit were at the alleged crime scene on Monday, according to Aftonbladet.
The newspaper reported that the alarm over the alleged rape was raised when the woman ‘sought care’ at a local hospital.
Mbappe left Sweden’s Bromma airport in a private jet on Friday.
The prosecutor in charge of the rape investigation declined to comment on the case, telling local media: ‘I will not say anything about this.’
Stockholm police issued a similar statement to MailOnline via spokesperson Carina Skagerlind: ‘The police can neither confirm or deny such a case.’
According to Aftonbladet, no suspects have been named in the case yet.
MailOnline has contacted the local prosecutor’s office as well as Bank Hotel for comment.
This comes ahead of tomorrow’s hearing over £46million in unpaid bonuses and wages which PSG have been ordered to pay Mbappe.
Mbappe was due to get a signing bonus in February and is due unpaid wages wages from his seven-year spell in Paris before he transferred to Real Madrid in June.
PSG have refused to pay the sum and follow the ruling by the French professional football’s governing body LFP.
It is understood that Mbappe contacted UEFA over the salary dispute last month.
Thursday evening, when Mbappe was seen in the V nightclub in Stockholm, was the same night his teammates from France’s national squad beat Israel 4-1.

Mbappe has faced criticism in his home country France for skipping their Nations League games against Israel and Belgium while being available to play for his club Real Madrid.
The footballer picked up a muscle injury to his hamstring last month but made his return to the pitch off the bench in his club’s Champions League defeat at Lille last Wednesday before seemingly jetting off to Stockholm.
He also played in most of Real Madrid’s game against Villarreal on the weekend, but indicated that he now needed more rest as part of his recovery from his hamstring injury.
France coach Didier Deschamps had announced that he left Mbappe out of the national squad lineup, saying the 25-year-old lacked preparation, having played too few matches.
In a video released by the French Football Federation (FFF) on Monday, Deschamps said: ‘Kylian embodies a lot of things… the interests of the clubs and the interests of the national teams inevitably diverge.
‘We must also remember that the employer is the club, not the federation.’
Mbappe is France’s captain and with him – and vice-captain Antoine Griezmann, missing games, Deschamps said others had to take on the role.
