Kylian Mbappe ‘would join Arsenal’ if he was to move to the Premier League because of ‘his admiration for Mikel Arteta’s project’ as contract stalemate at PSG continues
Kylian Mbappe would join Arsenal if he was to move to the Premier League, according to a report.
The PSG forward’s future is once again up in the air as the transfer window opens, with Real Madrid long-term admirers but the French side keen to keep hold of their star man.
Mbappe has told PSG that he wants to leave the club when his contract is up next year, leaving the side at a crossroads with the possibility of him leaving for free next year.
It’s unlikely he will move this summer and even more unlikely he heads to the Premier League, though he is thought to be a big admirer of Mikel Arteta and his team.
According to The Independent, however, there has been no contact between the two clubs and the 24-year-old is seen to be way beyond Arsenal’s budget.

Arteta led Arsenal to second in the Premier League last season, pushing Manchester City all the way in their bid to win the Gunners their first league title since 2004.
Mbappe is said to be a fan of how the Spaniard is developing his team, and is intrigued by the idea of helping the club deliver a domestic title.
Madrid are reportedly keen to hold firm and try and sign the forward for free next summer, which will provide the chance for other sides to get involved in a potential bidding war for his services.
PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi has told the forward ‘he can’t leave for free’, suggesting a solution is needed sooner rather than later.
Real Madrid are maintaining that they want to sign him for free next summer when his contract expires
PSG, meanwhile, have blamed Karim Benzema for Mbappe’s most recent unsettlement.
According to Marca, the Ballon d’Or winner had been expected to stay at Real until 2024, and that Mbappe was willing to sign a contract extension with a view to moving next year for a substantial fee as Benzema’s replacement.
Marca say that, in the eyes of PSG, Benzema’s move was one of the main reasons the Frenchman became unwilling to complete contract talks, as Real’s need for a new forward came a year earlier than expected.
Mbappe could still sign a new deal at the Parc des Princes, but the club have made it clear he must make a decision soon.
