Kylie Minogue admits she was ‘miffed’ to see Neighbours return after filming the emotional finale last year following the show’s so-called cancellation: ‘Happy is probably not the emotion’
Kylie Minogue has weighed in on the upcoming return of Neighbours on Amazon Freevee.
The superstar, 55, joked that she was ‘miffed’ about the show’s upcoming return after the soap was cancelled last year.
Kylie, who rose to fame on the series by playing the character of Charlene, made a surprise cameo for the star-studded finale last July.
Appearing on a UK radio show, Kylie was asked whether she was happy after hearing the news that the beloved soap was making a return.
‘Yeah, happy is probably not the emotion,’ Kylie told the hosts of Scotland’s Tay F.M., after one said that the finale ‘was waste of time’.

‘You know, miffed may have been the word,’ she added with a laugh.
‘But I know, talking with the producer, they genuinely didn’t know [if it was coming back], so all the affection and love that went into the final episode was truth,’ she added.
Kylie left the show in 1988 to pursue a pop career.
The star-studded 90-minute finale of Neighbours last July saw the long-running Australian soap win the television ratings for the first time in more than a decade.
The episode, which wrapped up the series after 37-years, drew 873,000 metro viewers in Australia, largely thanks to the cast of returning favourites such as Guy Pearce, Holly Valance, and Jason Donovan, who played Kylie’s on-screen boyfriend, Scott.
Filming, meanwhile, is already underway for the reboot, which was announced last November by streaming platforms Freevee and Prime Video.

The revived Neighbours will also been seen on Channel 10.
It comes as Kylie is currently in the midst of a career resurgence not seen since her Can’t Get You Out of My Head days.
The Australian hitmaker, who just celebrated her 55th birthday, is racing up the charts with her comeback single Padam Padam and reaching a whole new generation of fans via social media.
The addictive dance track has become a viral sensation on TikTok and Twitter, racking up millions of views through hilarious memes.
