With only a diamond-encrusted guitar to protect her modesty, it’s a photo most of us wouldn’t consider posing for at 50 – never mind posting online for millions to see.
But that’s just how Kylie Minogue marked her 50th birthday on Monday, uploading the picture on her Instagram account a few minutes after midnight, along with the caption:
‘And so a new decade begins. How thankful I am for the opportunities life has afforded me. 50 … Let’s go!’

It came after her star-studded birthday bash at the exclusive Chiltern Firehouse in West London.
The party saw something of a Ramsay Street reunion, with the guests including Miss Minogue’s former Neighbours co-stars Guy Pearce and Jason Donovan, 49, whom she dated for three years in the 1980s.
Miss Minogue, who joined the Australian soap aged 18 as Charlene Robinson, was pictured affectionately embracing Pearce, 50, who played Mike Young.

And it’s safe to say, the picture sent Kylie’s fans into meltdown as they flocked to her comments to share their well wishes and excitement over her new beau.
In the build-up to her 50th, Miss Minogue had posted a series of old photographs online, reflecting on her life and career. The singer showed no sign of slowing down yesterday, however – taking time out on her birthday to post a link to her latest music video.
