Kylie Minogue reveals what she really thinks about modern ‘TikTokified’ music – as the pop icon’s Las Vegas residency sells out in minutes
Kylie Minogue revealed what she really thinks about the short and snappy hits of the modern time as the music legend shoots into the charts once more.
The pop icon, 55, will release her sixteenth studio album in September after an incredibly successful singing career which began in the 1980s.
Now the Padam Padam hitmaker has confessed on the Zach Sang Show on Wednesday that modern music is completely ‘different’ to what it once was.
‘It cuts to the chase quicker. That would be the biggest takeaway. You know, your long intro, your double – I mean, it’s like snap,’ she told American host Zach Sang.
‘Your verse is like half a verse. Chorus. A lot of it is TikTokified. No doubt for the kind of attention span that we all talk about.’

At this point, the 30-year-old radio host asked the global sensation sitting across from him: ‘Do you lose storytelling ability?
‘Not if it’s done really well,’ Kylie admitted as she gestured to the Harry Styles poster sitting above Zach in his studio.
‘Looking at Harry Styles above you, I mean As It Was – I lose it every time I hear that. I’m just like, “Perfection. That is perfection.”‘
She continued, ‘It doesn’t muck about. It gets straight to it,’ before admitting modern music is far too ‘different’ to compare to the music which shot her to fame.
Her seminal interview comes after Kylie’s second run of dates for her upcoming Las Vegas residency sold out.

Tickets for the 10 new dates sold out in 30 minutes, besting the four-and-a-half hours it took to sell out the original shows.
She has now sold out all 20 dates in the 1,000-capacity Voltaire club at The Venetian.
According to the Las Vegas Journal, Kylie may extend her Vegas run yet again due to popular demand.
‘The 55-year-old pop superstar’s popularity is already leading to industry buzz that she will add more dates. Officials familiar with the production have not ruled out a longer run,’ the publication wrote.
Tickets aren’t cheap for the star’s residency, beginning at $200 for general admission standing room at the back, and beginning at $1000 for a table of two.
