LA-based tattoo artist Instagram Dr. Woo Sydney pop-up

Renowned tattoo artist to the stars Dr. Woo is coming to Sydney to open a free pop-up – and a select lucky few will get to trial his work.

Ink enthusiasts interested in sampling Dr. Woo’s work can pledge their interest on November 18, with registrations kicking off from 9am at the Hunter and Fox Tattoo in Beaconsfield.

Names will be drawn from a hat at 10am and the LA-based artist will commence work on the first of the charmed ones, Pedestrian reports.

The winning bunch will be allowed to choose their own tattoos, and Dr. Woo’s work will encompass his famed L.A-inspired aesthetic.

With clients ranging from Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke to Drake and Miley Cyrus, he has over 1.2 million followers on Instagram. 

Dr. Woo’s admired work is sought after across the industry and appointments are highly coveted, with A-list celebrities being among his biggest fans.

He opens up availability once every two months and works on a ‘first in, first serve’ basis.

The esteemed tattooist says ‘it’s a bit like a lottery’ to see if your email gets his attention.

‘I say it’s like a lottery system because that’s how it translates, because that’s how people really get appointments,’ he told Pedestrian.TV. 

‘For Aussies I would say: if you’re coming into town, call ahead and talk to the shop manager, and say, ”We’re here for a short time, if there’s any cancellations we would love to get it”.

‘Usually I try and accommodate people who are coming from far away.’
