While Cooper Kupp’s return to the field is not guaranteed this weekend, LA Rams coach Sean McVay hinted at the star receivers’ improving condition.
Kupp has missed the last three games with an ankle injury he suffered in Week 2 but could return on Sunday when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders at home.
Before practice on Wednesday, McVay told reporters that Kupp will go through individual drills and work on the side as trainers continue to asses his game readiness.
‘There’s a possibility that he’ll play, but we’ll see how today goes,’ McVay shared. ‘He’s trending in the right direction, but we’ll see exactly what that means as the week progresses.’
Kupp did not fully participate with the team in practice on Wednesday but the Rams appear hopeful he could be fully immersed on Thursday and Friday.

Rams coach Sean McVay revealed that the receiver was doing his own workouts this week
Since Kupp is not on injury reserve, there remains to be no firm timeline for his return. He is not required to sit out any number of games as long as the Rams clear him to play.
The Rams have been off to a rough start this season, sitting fourth in the NFC West with a 1-4 record.
McVay’s side started the season with consecutive losses to the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals.
Their lone win against the San Francisco Giants is between the aforementioned losses and two more defeats against the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. They hope to return to the win column when they take on the Raiders with the Vikings on deck for Oct. 24.
In his two appearances this season, Kupp made 18 receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown.
