Labour’s grandees danced the night away as the legendary ‘Diversity Nite’ was brought back to party conference.

The bizarre spectacle was cancelled last year by Keith Vaz when he was embroiled in a rent boy scandal.

But Jeremy Corbyn himself led the revellers at the 2017 edition which came with its traditional belly dancers, raffle and the spectacle of performing politicians.

Keith Vaz (left at the Diverty Nite party in Brighton last night) brought back his traditional party at Labour conference after a year’s absence. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn led revellers

Mr Vaz has organised the party at Labour conference for many years, traditionally inviting belly dancers and other performers to join top MPs

Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott and ex minister Yvette Cooper were among the Labour figures spotted twirling away during the late-night party.

The booze-fuelled bash has been organised by Mr Vaz on the fringes of Labour conference for years and last night the Leicester MP was spotted dad-dancing to Gangnam Style.

Ms Abbott gave a speech and said she and Mr Vaz had the ‘distinction of being the great survivors’ after both entered Parliament 30 years ago.

Teetotaller Mr Corbyn was seen in high spirits at the event.

During the party, pictures of the likes of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks, flashed up behind Mr Vaz as the crowd munched on Biriyanis amid a sea of confetti and coloured balloons.
