Laila Rousse broke her silence after her split from Ronnie O’Sullivan on Thursday with an Instagram post.
The Footballers’ Wives actress, 50, took to her Story to say that break ups ‘don’t have to be sad’ and that they can mean the ‘beginning of new adventures and learnings’.
The couple first got engaged in 2012 and became engaged a year later but they never tied the knot.

The post in full read: ‘The thing about break ups… It doesn’t have to be a sad time. It doesn’t have to be hard. It can be the beginning of new adventures, new learnings.
‘It can be a wonderful teacher. Using self-compassion and manifesting a new life without someone you love can still lead you to a place of joy. Thank you for your kidn messages.’
It comes after Laila announced her split from Ronnie on Twitter on Wednesday.
And the snooker legend’s family life hasn’t been plain sailing, with Ronnie’s sister Danielle speaking out about his and Laila’s relationship back in 2020.
In an interview, Danielle revealed a toxic family feud was tearing the family apart as she claimed their mother Maria took an ‘instant dislike’ to Laila, 50, and called her ‘s**g’ during a bitter row.

She told The Sun in 2020: ‘Ronnie has given Mum so much help in the past. But when he asked her for £15,000 last year, he told me she said, “I’m not giving you money for that f***ing s**g”.
‘She has shown me Laila’s number saved on her phone under “The revolving f***y” and has apparently told Ronnie, “She’s just a prostitute, she’ll sleep with anyone”.
‘She told me he goes for the same birds and Laila is the one who will catch him out. But Ronnie is so in love with Laila. He’s bought her a diamond ring, though he says they’re not engaged. They split up last year then got back together.’

Ronnie, 46, who was born in Wordsley, became one of the most recognisable and outspoken figures in snooker.
When he was 19, both his parents were in jail after his Italian-born mother was given a one-year sentence for tax evasion.
Ronnie had to look after the family business and younger sister, Danielle, while rising to the top of his sport.

Ex-Holby City star Laila previously revealed how the duo first crossed paths when she was house-hunting and their meeting came about by chance.
She said: ‘It happened by accident. I was shown around Ronnie’s house by his father, who told his son about meeting me.
‘Ronnie called the estate agent, a friend of mine, and asked me out via her.
‘When she said he was a snooker player, I said, “Yeah, but what does he do for a living?” I’d never heard of him because sport doesn’t interest me at all, although Ronnie’s won me over to snooker.’

The couple first got engaged in 2012 and became engaged a year later but they never tied the knot.
Ronnie previously suggested they were not in a rush to get married.
Laila announced their split on social media with the statement: ‘After nearly ten years of love and memories, Ronnie I have parted ways. Peace and love to you all. Laila X (sic).’ Ronnie has yet to address the split.

But a source the The Sun on Wednesday evening it has been a ‘blow’ for the snooker champ.
The insider said: ‘This has been a blow for poor Ron. Especially the same week his dad is showing off his new missus.
‘Laila was a source of support to him but they have grown apart. At first they were telling friends Ron was off training, hoping things might get better between them. But now they’ve decided to stay separated.
‘Ron’s calmed down a lot and he’s a really decent bloke. It seems to be a friendly split so hopefully we’re not seeing him return to the bad old days.’

The couple kept their romance largely off social media – Laila last posted about Ronnie in May 2021 when she shared a throwback snap – while Ronnie’s last post was in 2018 when he branded Laila his ‘woman crush Wednesday.’
