Larry Emdur admits to ‘disliking’ Rove McManus in shock radio interview as he reignites their ‘feud’

The Morning Show host Larry Emdur has reignited an an old ‘feud’ with TV veteran Rove McManus.

The 50-year-old Gold Logie favourite admitted to ‘disliking’ Rove during an appearance on 2Day’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin show on Wednesday.

Larry made the admission when he was challenged to do a lie detector test.

Host Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes started the segment by reminding Larry he had ‘famously’ had ‘run ins’ with Rove, 50, over the years.

After asking the Channel Seven star whether he ‘disliked’ Rove, Larry firmly replied ‘No.’

But unfortunately for Larry the lie detector machine came back with a definitive ‘Yes’.

After failing the test a second time Larry insisted: ‘I love Rove.’

Later in the segment, Larry suggested he did not pass the lie detector because there was something wrong with the machine.

An old ‘feud’ between The Morning Show host Larry Emdur and TV veteran Rove McManus has been ignited

‘I reckon the machine was broken,’ he joked. ‘Was it bought second-hand on Gumtree somewhere?’

’No, look I love Rove. I love all his Instagram posts. That’s love,’ he continued.

He then explained the gaffe may have been the result of Larry picking up the tab for Rove after the pair recently enjoyed a night out together.

‘You know what I think happened is that Rove and I had dinner about a month ago and you know those QR codes [used to pay the tab]?’

‘There was no chance to split the bill and I think there was some bubbling resentment over that,’ he joked.

Dave admitted he had tried to get Rove on the segment for his reaction.

But the media veteran declined after having arrived back in the country from overseas the night before.

‘That’s not a really good excuse,’ Larry clapped back, adding: ‘I think that there’s an issue now.

‘He [Rove] loves the Irwin family and of course young Robert [Irwin] is up for a Logie in the same category as me.

‘So I reckon Rove has some issues now.’

In 2016, Rove challenged the Channel Seven personality to spar with him on his 2Day FM breakfast show, facing off in three rounds on the station’s rooftop.

The match, which Larry won, had been proposed as the only way to end the pair’s long-running tongue-in-cheek ‘feud’.

Rove shot to fame in 1999 with his self-titled Channel Nine talk show. His company Roving Enterprises currently produces Channel 10’s The Project.
