The father of an Atlanta area rapper who was shot dead in 2011 during a shoot for a Gucci Mane video is suing his former lawyers because he has been unable to collect an $11million judgment connected to his son’s killing, it was reported on Wednesday.
Mark Hamilton, the father of Mario Hamilton, better known by his stage name Slim Dunkin, filed suit against the Decatur, Georgia law firm of Hagen, Rosskopf, and Earle.
Hamilton claims that the attorneys were ineffective in collecting the money he was awarded in a civil suit filed after his son’s death.
News of the lawsuit was first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The main suspect in the shooting, Vinson Hardimon, was acquitted of murder but convicted of lesser charges and sent to prison.
Hardimon is better known to his fans by his stage name – Yung Vito.
Slim Dunkin’s father, Mark Hamilton, sued a number of defendants, but his only victory in court was against Hardimon and Brick Squad Music Group LLC.

Though Hamilton was awarded $11million in the 2016 judgement, he says he hasn’t seen any of the money.
Hardimon is in prison, while Brick Squad Music Group LLC no longer exists.
Hamilton believes he would have likely seen money if he had successfully sued Gucci Mane, Warner Bros. Music International, and Neeki Properties, the company that owned the studio where the shooting took place.
But his lawyers failed to win judgments against them.
Hamilton’s latest legal action accuses the lawyers of failing to adequately pursue possible lawsuits against Gucci Mane and other defendants.
Bruce Hagen and Myrlin Earle are the two lawyers being sued by Hamilton.
‘Mr. Hamilton suffered an incredible tragedy when he lost his son. I have always been, and remain, very sorry for his loss,’ Hagen told AJC in an email.
‘The claims that Mr. Hamilton has made against me and Mr. Earle, however, are entirely without merit and will be defended to the fullest extent.’
