Tattoos last forever, and while this keeps many from subjecting their bodies to such a commitment, according to this gallery of botched – or simply terrible – tattoos, it seems that others don’t give it much thought.
You would think tattoo artists would triple-check the spelling of words before marking someone’s skin with a quote forever, but the cringe-worthy mistakes in many of these prove that’s certainly not the case.
One guy, for example, who was trying to prove to the world how ‘cool’ he was, inked his skin with the misspelled phrase: ‘Too cool for scool’. Another wanted to let everyone know how honorable he is, but ended up with the words ‘death before dishouner’ forever marking their body.
That’s… interesting: A woman got a tattoo of a tiger on the side of her face and accessorized the creature’s eyes with piercings
Really? This man thought a pink thong coming out of his pants would make for a good tattoo
Dishonor indeed: This tattoo artist should have probably checked the correct spelling of the word ‘dishonor’ before immortalizing his error on his client’s arm
What? ‘When two hearts collide there is always one that burns and dies’ reads this unfortunate tattoo which is almost impossible to read thanks to the terrible font and wonky lettering
Many also failed at honoring their favorite TV and movie characters, getting a tattoos that definitely don’t do the people that inspired them justice.
Perhaps even worse, it’s unclear what some of these tattoos were trying to portray, exactly.
But while many of these tattoos seem like mistakes, other people seem to have gotten exactly what they wanted, like a literal ‘bag of d****’ on their arm, and a pink thong coming out of their backside.
It’s a good that tattoos can now be removed with laser, because at least some of these people will surely want to get rid of theirs eventually.

If you say so… This man ‘honored’ Christ with a profanity-filled tattoo
Hand ink: These people chose to profess their love for the the Day of the Dead (left) and Superman by inking these images on their hands, which look more like bad infections
Terrifying: This tattoo of creepy Lord of the Rings character Gollum has no doubt terrified many viewers
Wow… this man really got am actual ‘bag of d****’ tattooed on his arm
Maybe she shouldn’t have: This Instagram user seemed incredibly proud about the fact that she had dared to get a tattoo of a Bic lighter, despite many thinking it a rather dumb idea
Who’s going to tell them? One woman got ‘babby girl’ tattoed on her neck (left) and someone misspelled ‘you’re’ and ‘thief’ on their skin
Ouch: This bright red diamond tattoo looks like it hurt a lot – and it seems like the pain might not have been worthwhile given the incredibly awkward dimensions and wobbly lines
Wow: This man got what appears to be a skateboarding penis marked forever on his skin
