Lauren Curtis and Shannon Harris declutter their make up

Once their following starts to grow, beauty YouTubers are flooded with all kinds of gifts – from make up and skincare to face masks and hair products.

And to showcase just how impressive their make up collections are, many share videos to take their subscribers on a tour of their drawers and boxes bursting with products.

Australian beauty guru Lauren Curtis, 24, recently took to her channel to share a video of herself decluttering her incredible collection and offered an insight into just how many products she has.

‘I am so lucky to get sent so much make up weekly and realistically it’s just too much for one person so every now and then I like to do a big clearout of my collection,’ she said, before starting on a room.

‘This room in particular contains all of the make up that I have been sent in a PR parcel that I would like to try but haven’t gotten around to trying. When I receive a PR parcel full of make up I usually keep around 10 to 20 per cent of it and that’s where this make up goes.

‘The rest is given to friends and family or donated to a charity or organisation.’

Lauren then moved on to her filming room.

‘This whole process took two days. This video is going through and getting rid of new make up that I just don’t see myself using because I am so grateful to get all of this sent so often but I just can’t keep on top of it and I know that other people will appreciate it more,’ she said.

The popular blogger then organised her foundations, powders, primers and concealers before taking on her even larger collection of eyeliners, mascaras and cream shadows

‘I feel like I’m getting to an age where less is more and I just don’t want clutter and stuff around me. Clear space, clear mind.’

Lauren decluttered a large box of items before moving on to other drawers filled with hundreds of foundations, loose powders, highlighters concealers and bronzers.

‘To get rid of this stuff was definitely difficult but what I did was basically the easiest thing was to get rid of all the brands that aren’t cruelty free,’ Lauren said.

‘Now I know at least when I reach into my make up drawers that it’s high quality stuff, it’s stuff I’ll actually use and it’s cruelty free.’

‘I’m not throwing it all away but I am throwing away anything that is uber uber old and nasty. Anything else that’s still usable will be going to friends and family or anything that’s new or lightly used that can be sanitised will be donated,’ Shannon said.

Shannon talked through the process as she took on the three completely full drawers of lipsticks and organised them – the drawers holding just a small portion of her whole collection.

‘If you didn’t think I got rid of many, think again,’ she concluded, before filming the large pile of lipsticks she chose to throw out or donate.

‘A lot of the stuff I have in my collection has been sent to me, I’m not going to lie about that. With my job and doing the odd make up video here and there, I do have a lot of make up brands and companies send me make up,’ she said.
