Lauren Silverman looks radiant as she joins Simon Cowell and son Eric in Barbados

Lauren Silverman and Simon Cowell enjoyed another boat day with their son Eric as they continued to celebrate the new year in style during their trip to Barbados on Sunday.

The socialite, 43, took centre stage in a strapless bikini as she tapped into full relaxation mode with the couple’s six-year-old son, while the music mogul, 61, proved there’s nothing stopping him as he hit the waves on a jetski, just five months after he broke his back during a bike accident.

The Cowell family managed to escape the UK’s coronavirus restrictions as they jetted off to the Caribbean island before London and many other parts of the country were locked into a new Tier 4 system.

Showcasing her toned figure, Simon’s girlfriend caught the eye in a bandeau black bralet, teamed with high-waisted briefs.

The brunette injected even more glamour into her beach look by accessorising with a cream trilby and oversized square-framed shades.

Following a dip in the ocean, the mother-of-two, who also shares son Adam, 15, with ex-husband Andrew Silverman, sported drenched locks and replaced her hat with a white headband.

The New Yorker let her skin breathe by going make-up free, and rounded off her appearance with a selection of dainty gold jewellery.

Businessman Simon, meanwhile, looked happy and healthy as he went shirtless during a ride of a personal watercraft.

Donning just a pair of khaki green shorts and mirrored aviator shades, the music executive appeared at peace on his idyllic getaway.

Little Eric was clearly a fan of the trip too, with Simon’s mini-me treating himself to a swim in the large body of water.

The X Factor creator has shed a whopping 4st after adopting a strict vegan diet and overhauling his exercise regime.

The holiday no doubt comes as a welcome break for Simon, who was taken to hospital in August to undergo six hours of surgery after breaking his back.

The media personality had to cancel all his planned TV work for the rest of the year, including ITV programme Britain’s Got Talent.

Musician Sinitta, 52, who once dated the Britain’s Got Talent judge, previously disclosed that he is now walking a gruelling five miles a day amid his continued recovery.

The singer told The Sun: ‘Simon has worked hard at his recovery and told me he’s walking 10,000 steps a day that’s around five miles – way more than he was before the accident. He’s got one of those watches that measures every step.’

Sources recently claimed the TV star was considering legal action against the manufacturers of his electric bike following his injury.

Simon and his team are said to be ‘weighing up’ legal options and have been ‘pressing’ the manufacturers, Swindon Powertrain.

One lawyer claimed that a successful lawsuit could see Simon get up to £10million for medical bills and loss of earnings, the publication reported.

But a whistleblower from the manufacturers reportedly claimed the £20,000 electric bike an ‘accident waiting to happen’ due to Simon’s lack of training.

They told the publication: ‘It should never have been sold to Simon without him being taught how to use it.’

It had been claimed that contestants are expected to be filmed at locations across the globe to avoid the current Tier 4 rules put in place in London.

However, a show insider told MailOnline that bosses have already settled on a UK location, but will continue to assess their options.

The source said: ‘The auditions are currently planned for a venue at the end of Jan/ early Feb. Obviously if that’s not feasibly safety-wise, producers will look at other options and contingencies.’
