Lauren Verona dies after giving birth to healthy baby in Queensland

A mother-of-three who ran a high-profile yoga studio died after giving birth at home to a healthy baby girl.

Queensland woman Lauren Verona, 42, died from complications during childbirth after delivering her daughter Lucinda Lauren Elizabeth Gaylard.

Ms Verona ran Zenko Yoga in Noosaville, on the Sunshine Coast, and described the mission of the studio to ‘inspire people to seek change and transformation within’.

Her death comes just months after Ms Verona married the love of her life Ryan at an intimate wedding in February.

Her distraught employees shared their devastation at her sudden death in a heartbreaking post on the company’s Facebook page.

‘This unfathomable loss is felt deeply by all of us that are part of her teaching team, by her family, her friends and we know it will be by all who came to know her,’ it read.

‘All who went to her workshops, watched her videos, shared space with her on retreats, trained with her, practiced with her or simply met her once know how powerful her presence was, how her energy radiated with light and wisdom towards everyone and everything she touched!

‘Lauren has CHANGED more lives than anyone can comprehend and it is our greatest loss to not get to continue to share her joy, her spirit and her wisdom with this world.’

They extended their deepest condolences to Ms Verona’s partner and their daughters Allira and Evie.

‘In this time of darkness, we still have a shining light, not only in Lucinda, but all of her loved ones she leaves behind, especially in Ryan and her daughters,’ the post read.

‘May they, and we all continue to share her light, her wisdom, her laughter, her tears for lifetimes to come.’

Ms Verona had earlier spoken out about the ‘indescribable pelvic girdle pain’ she experienced at 35 weeks pregnant.

‘Remarkably on my 36 week scan my cervix is now clear of what was a low lying placenta .5cm away,’ she said early last month.

‘Even the Sonographer seemed shocked and called her senior in to confirm. The obstetrician who was about to convince me of a C section told me I was free to go home and birth naturally.’

‘Pelvic instability, anaemia and gestational diabetes keeping me couch bound but otherwise awesome and looking forward to birthing this angel as soon as viably possible,’ she said at 30 weeks before being given the all clear for a natural birth.

Just five days ago she said the ‘countless pregnancy complications’ she had, had been ‘very challenging’.

‘But I hear my own children say ‘divine timing’ when anyone asks when the baby is coming out. I love that they get it,’ she said.

‘So here we are 41 weeks pregnant trusting the higher plan.’

Mourning friends and family shared their heartbreak as they paid their respects.

‘I am heartbroken to have lost to this physical realm a most wonderful woman who taught me how to love and to be fearless,’ one person wrote.

Another added: ‘It has been my utmost honour and privilege to meet, train with, know and support her in her passion which is the physicality and energy of Zenko Yoga.

‘So many memories that will be forever etched in the forefront in my mind … My heart aches for her divine two young daughters, her beloved husband and new born baby girl.’

Ms Verona had only been married for four months before she died during childbirth.

Photographs showed the pregnant mother-of-three dressed in a free-flowing white dress as she tied the knot to her partner near a beach.
