Lea Michele drapes baby bump in flowy black dress for NYC stroll with her mother… after revealing she had three miscarriages and needed surgery before current pregnancy

Lea Michele draped her blossoming baby bump in a flowing black dress as she stepped out in New York City with her mother Edith Sarfati this week.

The 37-year-old Glee star and her husband Zandy Reich announced this March that they are expecting their second child, a girl.

They are already the proud parents of a three-year-old son called Ever, whom they welcomed in August 2020 about a year and a half after their wedding.

For her latest outing Lea, who is now in her third trimester, modeled a stylish floor-length black gown with a slit up one side.

Sweeping her dark hair back up into a high bun, she rounded off the look with ballet flats, round sunglasses and a glistening necklace.

Lea’s latest sighting comes after she revealed the difficult fertility journey she underwent before becoming pregnant with her second baby.

She underwent three miscarriages and was ultimately diagnosed with endometriosis, requiring surgery and ‘1000 shots,’ she said.

The Broadway star made the revelation on the BDA Baby podcast hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s daughter Katherine, who herself is currently pregnant by her movie star husband Chris Pratt.

While trying to conceive her new baby, Lea ‘had two back-to-back, very early, failed pregnancies,’ leaving her ‘shocked’ as she had ‘never had a miscarriage before.’

She disclosed: ‘The first one, I was like: “That was weird.” When it happened again right away, I was like: “Wait a second. Something is wrong.”‘

At that point, she considered deciding to ‘step away’ from trying for another baby, reasoning that perhaps it was not the ‘right time.’

The Spring Awakening star ultimately suffered a third miscarriage ‘a little bit later’ while she was working, and she found it ‘super challenging’ to ‘process what we were experiencing at the same time, which was very painful.’

She decided to ‘dive deeper’ and discover the cause of her medical issues, so she consulted with medical professionals and was diagnosed with endometriosis.

As a result, she had an operation and was ‘put on so many drugs and medications,’ including ‘1000 shots,’ after which she become pregnant with her daughter.

A couple of years ago, shortly after Ever turned two, she revealed that she experienced heavy bleeding during her first pregnancy and had to go on bedrest.

‘I still was uncertain if the pregnancy was going to last,’ she said on The Drew Barrymore Show. ‘It was horrible. It was the lowest I’ve been in my entire life.’

However she noted that she and Zandy were brought closer by the ordeal, saying: ‘Having our son and experiencing the challenges that we did throughout the pregnancy was something that unfortunately created a stronger bond in us.’
