Lea Michele reveals two-year-old son Ever is ‘doing well’ amid health scare

She has been through quite the ordeal with her son Ever, who has been grappling with a health issue as of late.

Now Lea Michele has shed light into how her two-year-old son is currently doing.

‘Ever’s doing good. He’s doing well,’ Lea, 36, told People at the TIME 100 gala. ‘We still have a little bit of a long road ahead of us here, but he’s doing well, thank God, and healthy.’

Fortunately she has been receiving plenty of ‘support’ from her Funny Girl co-stars and family.

‘The most amazing support from my cast and my family,’ she told People.

She also said her husband Zandy Reich had been ‘wonderful.’

‘My husband is wonderful, he’s here tonight,’ she said.

It has been a difficult few weeks for Lea, whose son has been in and out of the hospital this past month over an unknown health issue.

The Broadway sensation was forced to pull out of some Funny Girl performances last month after Ever – who she shares with her husband of four years Zandy – was hospitalized due to a ‘scary health issue.’

The mother of one eventually returned to the show in late March and shared that her son was not back to full health.

‘Hi everyone. I’m saying a quick hello from my dressing room here. I’m back at Funny Girl tonight,’ she said on social media.

The mother of one continued, ‘I’m really happy to be back. It’s been a really long week and we’re still not out of the woods completely with our son, but he’s headed in a good direction and we’re really really grateful.’

After giving an update on her son’s health, Lea then opened up about her own status to her fans. ‘I’m happy to be back here. I have a cold I think from not sleeping at all this past week. But I’m really happy to be back with my Funny Girl family.’

The performer then expressed her gratitude for all the ‘love’ and well wishes she had received over the past few days, saying, ‘And I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for just so much love and support this week. I really really appreciated it.’

To conclude the short reel, Lea then added, ‘For everyone who is here tonight, I’m really excited and we’re going to make it a good one. So, okay, I love you all.’ She then blew a quick kiss towards her camera before the clip ended.

In late March the Broadway star revealed on her Instagram stories that her son was suddenly hospitalized and shared a photo of her son resting in a bed with a stuffed animal close to him.

‘I’m so sorry but unfortunately I will be out of @Funnygirlbwy today.

‘We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for,’ she wrote in a caption above the picture.

Although she didn’t disclose the health issue, the actress added, ‘I’m so sorry. Please send us some love and strength.’

Lea has been portraying the leading role of Fanny Brice since her opening night in September 2022, after replacing Beanie Feldstein.

Lea’s stint in Funny Girl is due to end on September 3, 2023 and she is looking forward to spending more time with her little boy.

Asked her plans when the show wraps, she told ET: ‘Oh my goodness, I’m gonna just spend as much time with my son as I can, and rest.

‘And let my body just recover from doing this show, and be a mom of a three year old.’

She said he was three because by the time the show ends, her son will be that age.

The Scream Queens star has received rave reviews for her turn as Fanny Brice, and the box office records the production has broken, Lea is still processing the ‘incredible’ accomplishments but ultimately her family life comes first.

She said: ‘I really try hard to take a moment to process these amazing accomplishments along the way, because they really are so incredible.

‘But at the end of the day, it’s like I wake up, I’m a mom, I take care of my son, I go to work at night, we have so much fun.

‘And I think at the end of the day, all of these achievements are so great. But the fact that we are having so much fun at the same time, as a cast on that stage – that’s truly what matters the most.’

Although Lea has appeared on stage before, Funny Girl will be the first time she has closed a Broadway production and she teased there will be some special moments for fans.

She said: ‘Our show’s closing on September 3, when I leave. I’ve never closed a show before.

‘I’ve usually left, and so it’s gonna be interesting, but we’re gonna go out with a bang. I’ll tell you that we have a few surprises for my final night that I haven’t told anybody about yet.’
