In the short video, Michele lip synced along to Don’t Rain on My Parade, the musical’s most recognizable song.

After getting through just one line, she stopped to give a demure wave to where her audience would be as applause played.

She then sang the next line before quickly moving her hands up and down and striking a fanciful pose.

‘Unfortunately, I have officially tested positive for COVID. In following production protocols, I cannot return to the theater for 10 days,’ began Michele, who made her debut as Fanny Brice earlier this week.

She went on to explain that the musical’s cast and crew have been dealing with a COVID-19 crisis behind-the-scenes which has led to substantial absences in recent weeks.

‘Thankfully staying home today and catching this early protected so many members of our company from being exposed. Funny Girl has been and still is tackling a tremendous wave of COVID  with close to a dozen company members currently out,’ she wrote.
